Venue
The Upper Room Theater offers one of West Michigan's most flexible and intimate spaces for concerts, classes, recitals and theater. Built in 2005 with a bequest from the late Juliann Brenner, the 75-seat black-box theater possesses outstanding acoustics with superb visibility from every seat.
Past events have included:
- Singer/Songwriter Series, featuring The Corn-Fed Girls, Bob and Alec Johnston and Friends, Drew Gibson, and Ian Gorman, among others
- Twinderella: the story of Cinderella and her twin brother, Bob (Fall 2008)
- That's Amore: Radio Station WLUV (Winter 2009), a benefit concert for the women and children of Centro Santa Catalina in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico
- Gilbert and Sullivan's comic operetta, Patience (Winter 2006)
- The Feaste of the Nativity, an annual celebration of the birth of Christ in pageantry and song
- With This Ring: A Celebration of Bridal-Wear from the 1890s through today (Spring 2009)
The Upper Room Theatre has hosted lecture recitals for the Hope Academy of Senior Professionals, currently serves as the resident concert venue for the Tira Mi Su trio, and is the home of Zion's Writer's Workshop.
