The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod

With the exception of a five-year seminary program, Ryan Winningham is a lifelong Michigander. Born in Rochester, Michigan, he grew up just beyond the northeastern suburbs of the Detroit area, where his father was a pastor. Impacted by mission trips, youth leaders, and parents, God led him to consider pastoral ministry. That journey took him to Concordia University, Ann Arbor for 2 years where he played soccer and studied music. He transferred to Hope College for his final two years where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music. After graduation, he and Amie Senyk were married and moved to St. Louis, MO in order to attend Concordia Seminary. After two years of intensive Biblical studies, he took an additional year of training at the Lutheran Seminary, Westfield House, in Cambridge, England. His year of vicarage (internship) took him to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Denver, Colorado. He finished his lengthy seminary experience with a final year of studies back in St. Louis.
After many adventures, in 2009 God led both Ryan and Amie back to Holland and back to Zion Lutheran Church where they had been involved as students at Hope College.
